MARK IV CONTROLLER
An 8 axis Controller with 8 input lines, 8 output lines and 2 auxiliary ports Built-in teach pendant support Over 100 sophisticated instructions RS-232C serial communication |
DESCRIPTION |
THE CONTROLLER The Mark IV controller incorporates the latest developments in technology to control educational and research robots. It features an open system suitable for teaching and experimentation. The Mark IV controller integrates the power supplies, communication, microprocessor logic, teach pendant support, input/output capability and a software language all in one unit. The unit is ready to be connected to and used with any Rhino XR series or SCARA robot. Proportional, integrative and derivative (PID loop) control algorithms allow full speed control of all eight encoded motors. Eight input line pairs, eight input switches and eight output line pairs are provided directly on the controller. All input lines are current limited for safe, easy operation. I/O lines operate just like industrial grade input lines. The power required by the lines can be provided either by the controller or by the input device. The eight output lines are also current limited and provide up to 100 milliamps. The RoboTalk language used to control the controller can also control the external I/O module (optional) at the same time. This allows for interaction with 48 lines of I/O including analog I/O and breadboarding. |
TEACH PENDANT The teach pendant supports its own microprocessor and communicates with the host via RS-232C. It supports two alphanumeric lines of 16 characters each for a fully functional conversational system. The teach pendant is standard equipment with each Mark IV controller. |
